Hacı Ayşe-Ziver Karataş Mosque was Opened

The Karataş Family, who previously brought a school to Gemlik, built a modern mosque that stands out with its architecture and was built on an area of ​​1958 square meters. The mosque rose on a closed area of ​​1176 square meters. The foundation of the Hacı Ayşe-Ziver Karataş Mosque was laid in May 2015 and it was opened for worship approximately one and a half years later, on the 8th death anniversary of the late philanthropist Ziver Karataş.

The opening of the Hacı Ayşe-Ziver Karataş Mosque, which filled an important gap in the monastery area of ​​Gemlik, attracted great attention. Bursa Deputy Governor and Gemlik District Governor Mustafa Altıntaş, Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Recep Altepe, Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality Mayor İbrahim Karaosmanoğlu, Gemlik Mayor Refik Yılmaz, District Mufti Muammer Turan, National Education Director Mehmet Duran, Deputy Mayors Kadir Erol, Ahmet Avcı and Vedat Büyükgölcigezli, and AK Party District Chairman Zafer Işık also attended the opening. The Friday prayer was led by former Bursa Provincial Mufti Prof. Dr. Mehmet Emin Ay. The opening ceremony, which began with the reading of the Mevlid-i Sharif, continued with the distribution of prayer rugs, prayer beads and Yasin-i Sharif to the citizens. Hacı Ayşe Karataş, her children Edibe Karataş, Vahyettin Karataş, Muhittin Karataş and Muhittin Karataş's wife Buket Karataş were also present at the ceremony.

Gemlik Mayor Refik Yılmaz, who acts with the principle of "Whoever builds a mosque for the sake of Allah, Allah prepares a palace for him in heaven", congratulated the members of the Karataş Family who had a school and then a mosque built in Gemlik and respectfully remembered the late Ziver Karataş. Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Recep Altepe began his speech by saying, "The Prophet says that the places Allah loves the most on earth are mosques" and said, "We are together in his home, one of the places Allah loves the most. We thank the Karataş family who built this beautiful mosque without sparing any expense." Bursa Deputy Governor, Gemlik Deputy District Governor Mustafa Altıntaş also thanked the Karataş family.
